Academic Results

At KIPP, we emphasize data-driven instruction and tangible growth in both Reading and Math for our students. We use NWEA, a nationally-normed assessment, to measure literacy and mathematical growth throughout all of our students, and we also analyze our ISTEP+ Results as well as predict our ISTEP+ growth through the state’s Acuity test.

NWEA

The NWEA tracks growth in Math and Reading for all KIPP students. Our goal is that all KIPP students will growth at least 2 years worth in both math and reading during a single school year.

For the 2009-2010 school year, KIPP Indy ranked in the top ten highest growth categories in the national KIPP network for multiple reading and math classes.

  • Ms. Hampton’s 5th grade Reading class had the 2nd highest growth in the network.
  • Ms. Gatlin’s 7th grade Reading class had the 7th highest growth in the network.
  • Mr. Seibert’s 8th grade Reading class had the 9th highest growth in the network.
  • Mr. Sandlin’s 6th grade Math class had the 10th highest growth in the network.

ISTEP+ Results

Thanks to the tremendous dedication and hard work of our staff, students, and parents, KIPP has seen substantive increases in these critical testing areas. We look forward to even more improvement in the 2010-2011 school year! These results will not be available until the summer of 2011.
