Supplemental Education Services (SES)

The Indiana DOE requires that information be made available regarding KIPP’s Choice/SES programs. If you have questions or would like more information regarding the details below, please contact Brenda Albright at 317-637-9780 or 317-775-0298.

During the 2011-2012 school year, FREE tutoring sessions will be available to eligible students! Information regarding how to apply for these services was mailed to parents in October 2011. Tutoring is available from the providers listed on the Indiana Department of Education’s website at:

http://mustang.doe.state.in.us/dg/ses/SES10-corp-roviders.cfm?CORP=9400&REF=CORP_110.

A copy of the provider list was included in the October mailing and is available in the main office.

Parents interested in free tutoring for their child/ren may complete the enrollment form and return it to the school, noting their preference of the approved providers. Students eligible for the tutoring program are those who receive free or reduced-price meals and who did not pass one or more areas of ISTEP. Students will be prioritized for tutoring programs based on academic need. If more students apply than there are funds available to provide services, students will be placed on a wait list, prioritized by their academic need. Should an opening become available, students will be moved into the program from the waitlist.

Process followed by parents to enroll children in SES:

- Eligible parents are given information regarding various SES vendors who will service KIPP.

- Parents then make a decision on first, second, and third preferences of vendors, based on suitability and services offered.

- Parents fill out an application listing their ranked options, as well as other information regarding the enrolled child.

- Children are then placed with a vendor based on compatibility, preference, and space available.
